Climate Health Equality Network

The Climate Health Equality Network (CHEN) is a student-run nonprofit based in Great Neck, New York. We teach free online health lessons to orphanages and children’s homes in 20 countries, raise money and supplies for communities close to home, and host Off the Record, a podcast where world leaders talk about climate, health and the choices ahead.

[ Add a few sentences about how and when CHEN was founded, who started it, and where you work. ]

Our Mission

To bring free, science-based health lessons to children who would otherwise go without them, raise money and supplies for communities in need, and give young people a direct line to the leaders shaping climate and health policy.

Our Vision

A world where the place a child is born does not decide what they know about staying healthy.

How We Work

01

Teach

Free live lessons over Zoom on typhus, HIV, Alzheimer’s disease and more, for orphanages and children’s homes in 20 countries.

02

Raise

Talent shows, clothing drives and fundraisers at home that have raised over $9,000 for causes like the Alzheimer’s Association.

03

Listen

On our podcast, Off the Record, students ask world leaders what it really takes to act on climate and health.

04

Partner

Many partner directors reteach our lessons, so a single session can reach hundreds of children.

Our Story

How CHEN Began

[ Tell the story of how CHEN started: the moment, the people, and the problem you saw. Two or three short paragraphs work best here. ]

Our Partners

We partner with orphanages, children’s homes, schools, hospitals and nonprofits. Partners tell us what their children most need to learn, and we build lessons around it. Close to home, we team up with local organizations on drives and fundraisers.
